How
does the Titan work?
Titan
utilizes a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s
surface. This heating can cause
immediate collagen contraction. During the procedure, the skin’s surface
(epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan hand
piece. After the procedure, the
new collagen growth results in further tightening and the development of a
more youthful complexion with less lines, folds, or looseness of the skin.

Titan
employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of
energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF
(radio frequency)
What
areas respond best to the Titan Procedure?
Patients
have been successfully treated on many areas of the body where skin is lax.
Loose skin found on the abdomen, the back of the upper arms, along the jaw
line and under the chin have responded particularly well to the procedure.
Who
can be treated?
Since
Titan procedure is heating tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of
any skin type can be treated. Men
and women of all ages have been successfully treated.

How
many treatments will I need?
A
single treatment has produced very good results for some patients.
However, your physician will advise you as to the number and
frequency recommended for optimal results.
What
happens after the treatments? Any side effects?
Immediately
after the treatment you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the
treated area. Both should
dissipate within a few hours. Consult
your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risk
of the treatment.
When
will I see results?
Some
patients see results immediately. For
most patients, however, the
results are gradual over a three to six month period, as new collagen is
formed and the skin tightens.
What
do Treatments feel like?
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation.
Although some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain
reliever beforehand, many are comfortable without anything.

Has the Titan been tested and
approved?
The
Titan has been carefully studied in numerous clinics worldwide.
It is cleared for treatments of wrinkles in Europe and for general
dermatological use in
Canada. In the
US
it is cleared for topical heating to increase local tissue
temperatures and circulation. An
additional
510(k) clearance
is pending in the
US
for the treatment of wrinkles.
